Anne Hathaway's Fashion Evolution
Classic doe-eyed beauty she may naturally be, but it’s not always been hit after hit when it comes to Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe choices. There have been some dodgy decisions in the past, over the past 11 years, we've seen the actress come on leaps and bounds fashion-wise.
Let’s face it, sometimes you have to learn your own style – not everyone is just born with the in-built ability of knowing exactly what does and doesn’t suit them. Don’t you agree? Her sartorial success of 2011 came when she presented the Oscar Awards. Stylist Rachel Zoe dressed the actress in no less than EIGHT outfits including everything from Armani Prive to Atelier Versace and she even threw in a dapper Lanvin suit to prove that this girlie girl can do androgenous too.
But 2012 in particular was pretty spectac for Anne as she stepped out in creations from fashion heavyweights from Givenchy to Victoria Beckham. Heirloom-inspired earrings and a brand new pixie crop complete Anne’s look. Yep, the star braved having her luscious locks cut off for her role as Fantine in Les Misérables and her wardrobe got an immediate update. 'There isn’t a collared shirt that I don’t love right now and I like The Last Gentleman look more than ever,' Anne told us at the film's London premiere. The new 'do even inspired her to go all Rihanna on us in a pair of Tom Ford's risque bondage sandals. Ohh-err.
Of course, we can't not mention THAT wedding dress. When the brunette beauty married her boyfriend of four years, Adam Shulman, on a private residence in California in October 2012, she turned to her designer pal Valentino to create a dreamy wedding dress. Frothy, feminine and with a stunning pink ombre accent, it was made of layers of silk chiffon and influenced by romantic, vintage designs. Bride-spiration, anyone?
