In this week’s issue of Grazia we’re heralding the return of the string bikini and the best five brands that specialise in well-cut but really teeny tiny swimwear. The chief string bikini girl is, of course, Rihanna. Her many poolside ‘selfies’ from Miami last week confirmed it and when she captioned one Instagram shot with: "Shout out to my lover Thank u for designing what has to be my favorite bikini of all time!"

We had to know more. Much more.

Matthew  - a total hunk BTW - is the former Design Director of Victoria’s Secret, who founded his own lifestyle label Charlie by Matthew Zink three years ago. Since then, an endless tally of A-listers have chosen his sexy swim creations for their holiday wardrobes: Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Lea Michelle to name but a few.

“I have put so much energy and commitment into making the PERFECT string bikini,” explains Zink to Grazia exclusively, “I also take a simple timeless approach to swimwear to make sure you get the attention, not your bikini. In the end, people are sexy not clothes.” But a good cut certainly helps, so it’s no wonder Rihanna looks so incredibly fine in one of her many Charlie creations (we’ve spotted 8 and counting….)

“Rihanna's sensuality and youthful energy make her the perfect Muse for Charlie,” Matthew told us, I think our styles help celebrate Rihanna's natural confidence and sexuality. I can't tell you how proud I am to have her as a #charliefan.”

Before you retreat into a super-size kaftan know this: you don’t have to be a waif to go itsy bitsy like RiRi. In fact, low-slung tie-up bottoms safeguard against muffin top and a smaller but modest triangle top can enhance a bust – especially when they’re fitted with ingenious body-shaping trickery. And less fabric result in maximum tanning, after all.

“Enjoy it! Make sure you always have a high quality, simple, solid black bikini in your favourite silhouette,” is Matthew’s advice “I always find a bit of tan helps me get in the mood when I try on new styles.  And never forget... every bikini is worn best with a smile.” Never a truer word said Mr Zink.
