Two consecutive emails from fashion PRs to Grazia HQ have helped pique our already keen interest in an actress, producer and writer named Brit Marling. The first message came from Proenza Schouler, the second from Christopher Kane – two highly coveted, high fashion labels who don’t just dress anyone, but a select few of the most stylish girls in town. This double whammy of designer elite have bedecked Brit in their latest spring/summer 2014 wares and we’re now ready to see more – and thanks to this week’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah, that may just happen.

Miss Marling is currently on the circuit promoting, I Origins (a sci-fi drama flick starring alongside Prada fave, Michael Pitt) and also, The Better Angels (where she shares the silver screen with Diane Kruger in a tale of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood).

However, Brit doesn’t just give good dress; she’s a brainiac, too. After graduating in economics from Georgetown University Brit was offered a job at Goldman Sachs. She turned it down. What she didn’t reject was Christopher Kane’s soon-to-be mega floral sweatshirt: his twisted take on a biology lesson has been earmarked by many a fashion editor as one of the key pieces this season. She’s the first lady we’ve spotted wearing one – this could only mean big things, right?
With three more films in the pipeline this year, there’s more Marling to come and one place where you’ll find it: here. Obvs.
