Last night’s 86th Academy Awards Oscars ceremony was pretty major on every level. From the show stopping gowns to the hilarious Ellen Degeneres who hosted the event, oh, and not to mention recently split Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom’s ‘meet cute’ on the red carpet, and the adorable Jennifer Lawrence who tripped up once again whilst waving to her fans and overcome with excitement.
But, now its time to get down to the nitty gritty, after all, we may be their biggest fans but the likes of Lupita and Cate don’t rock up to the red carpet after flinging on just any old frock. No there are a series of über celebrity stylists who make the all-important decision of what they should wear - and we’ve tracked some of them down...
1. Leslie Fremar
Leslie has actresses Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore amongst her biggest clients. The 37 year old stylist first worked as assistant to American Vogue’s Editor in Chief Anna Wintour’s before becoming Fashion Director Tonne Goodman’s assistant. Fast forward 10 years and she is now one of the most influential stylists in Hollywood.

2. Katie Young
Also with assistant to Anna Wintour on her CV is Diane Kruger’s stylist Kate Young. After becoming Sittings Editor for the ‘People are talking about…’ section of the US Vogue magazine she styled her first ever cover of Teen Vogue. Since then she has become one of the most sought after stylists in the global fashion scene and if Diane Kruger’s beautiful sheer Valentino dress is anything to go by, we can’t wait to see what she does next.

3. Jennifer Rade
Channeling our very own Catherine Middleton, Angelia Jolie wore a nude Elie Saab embellished gown selected by costume designer and stylist Jennifer Rade and looked the epitome of elegance. Having worked on everything from big-budget music videos to high profile commercials and major red carpet events, her previous clients include Jada Pinkett Smith, Amy Winehouse and Tina Turner.

4. Elizabeth Stewart
Elizabeth is best known for old school elegance and glamour—but in a clean, structured and modern way, citing the fifties as a favorite sartorial era. This year, Stewart dressed her regular clients Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett. Sandra Bullock went for a classic Alexander McQueen navy silk gown, but Cate Blanchett stole the show in a beautiful Giorgio Armani floral applique nude dress.

5. Rachel Zoe
When you think of Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton circa 2005, their haute hippy style that had them at the top of every best-dressed list was down to one lady, Rachel Zoe. Since then she has launched her own TV show and clothing line, and is no stranger to the red carpet herself. Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Hudson are two of her biggest clients and judging from their appearance at the Oscars last weekend – over a decade on, Rachel Zoe is still one of the biggest celebrity stylists around.

6. Michaela Erlanger
The most sought after client is of course 12 Years A Slave actress, Hollywood newcomer and now multiple award winning Lupita Nyong’o. With a talent for eye-catching looks that are equally timeless, stylist Michaela Erlanger is responsible for Lupita’s recent rainbow of red carpet looks that have made headlines around the globe. She began at Parsons The New School for Design in New York , where she obtained her BA in Design and Management. She is also responsible for transforming Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery’s style on the red carpet and Winona Ryder is just one of her other famous clients.

7. Cristina Ehrlich
American Hustle actress Amy Adams has carved a signature style for herself that is both traditional and modern, all thanks to Cristina Ehrlich. She chose a Gucci Premiere navy gown for Amy that was true to Amy’s personal style, and whilst the colour did divide opinions, theres no doubting Amy looks a coiffed to perfection.
