ADR in her favourite Prada headbands [Rex]
Anna Dello Russo doesn’t take the subject of accessorising lightly, which means that if she’s chosen to wear one particular piece on repeat it must be really, really important. With multiple outfit changes per day of fashion week’s month-long marathon and a seemingly endless wardrobe of add-ons, it’s interesting to see that a single item – this Prada feather headband – has remained a fairly permanent fixture atop the Vogue Japan editor-at-large’s head.

Moschino, Dolce and Gabanna, Chanel, Fendi and more have all seen their catwalk’s boldest bags, jewellery, belts and more flourishing the many ensembles of ADR, but there’s nothing the fashion maniac has J’ADR’d more than this one, Pocahontas-style hairband.

Looking back through the history of Dello Russo’s most fantastical looks you’ll notice that she’s long been a friend of all things feathered. Some have been more elaborate than others – she took a near swan-dive into the 2010 Vogue Paris ball with a gigantic creation from Gareth Pugh and to celebrate Halloween last year ADR chose a dramatic party number – this one more pheasant-like and supplied by milliner Eleonora Bruno.

And with her collaborative collection for high street stalwart, H&M, back in 2012, plumage played a super-important role. One of the standout pieces of the large collection was a fancy fascinator that came complete with a faux bird – you can now find it on eBay for a mere £199. One of her rules at the time was ‘choose only OFF-scale, HUGE,?OVER-size, accessories,’ and it looks like things haven’t changed. So here’s to you Anna and yet another fearless round of FROW fashion.
