On Saturday night Henry Holland moved the fash pack to the Sorting Office - a hipster-tastic, vast warehouse space - to introduce us to his debauched debutante. We went backstage before the show, to check out the hair and makeup, talk over the collection with Fashion Police's Kelly Osbourne and admire Henry's quiff (which was on top form btw). Read below to find out what went down backstage at HOH...
1. The 'Monkey wind' hairstyle was invented
The reference for the hair was Emily Lloyd in the 80s film 'Wish You Were Here.' Not her actual hair, but her cheeky teenage attitude. Percy & Reed told Grazia Daily that they have dubbed the style 'monkey wind.' The hair was kept square and narrow, with the side parting pulled accross the face. The hair was then gripped behind the ear with a piece sticking out, giving the monkey ear effect. As for products, they used a Babyliss Pro Waving Wand to give the hair texture and then used Sebastian Dynamic to give it a dryness. They then slicked over the parting a mixture of Oribe and Percy Reed Super Shine products to give that 'oily, grunged up' teen look.
2. Kelly Osbourne has her eyes on the 'Rich Bitch' bomber
The Rich Bitch bomber is bound to be a cult item, and Kelly Osbourne has her eye on it. She said to us: 'I love it! I don’t know where I would have the balls to wear it but I still want it. It’s a bit obnoxious wearing a jacket with rich bitch on it, but you know, I am obnoxious.’
3. Forget the Cara Delevingne face, it's all about the Hollie May Saker face
Holly May Saker (plus boyfriend) was surrounded by a swarm of photographers and Instagrammers trying to get a piece of Hollie - the new Cara perhaps? She did an impressive wacky expression for Grazia Daily, but joked 'it's not the Cara face, this one is the Hollie face.'
4. Alterations were being made moments before the show
We spotted a bunch of assistants sewing together pearls at the last minute. What for you ask? Well the pearls kept falling off the shoes, so the HOH team was doing alterations up to the last minute.
5. Henry goes matchy matchy with his front row pals
Henry and Kelly Osbourne were hanging out backstage together in matching House of Holland jackets. An accident? A faux-pax? Nah the whole thing was planned. Kelly said to us: 'Me and Henry have matching jackets today – pre-planned!'
6. How many people does it take to complete a Henry-over? FIVE
Seriously - five per model. Hair was being pulled in ALL directions.
7. Sam Rollinson is the leading lady
It Brit model Sam Rollinson opened the show. Henry was very attentive to his leading lady, checking in on her before the show as he checked the hair and makeup.
8. You can never have too much tea
Being a Northern lad, Henry knows the importance of a good brew. Forget mango and lychee green tea, at House of Holland the girls sip on PG Tips. Ahhh lovely.
