We are starting to feel a little, dare we say it, festive here at Grazia HQ as the red cups are back, the street lights are going up and we've already eaten our first mince pie. Yup we're keen little elves. Now the Debenhams Christmas ad has hit our screens, and we guarentee you it will make you want to get drenched in glitter. As Julien Macdonald says 'it captures everything that makes this time of the year so special.'
The beautiful, romantic ad features a grey tailored coat by Jonathan Saunders, a show-stopping jumpsuit by Julien MacDonald and cute knits by Henry Holland. Watch the campaign below - be warned it will make you want to take up ice skating.
But that's not all as we also spoke to the leading expert on all things glittery, Mr Julien MacDonald, about how to do Christmas in style. Read below for Julien's festive fashion tips...
Grazia Daily: What are you Christmas style tips?
Julien Macdonald: Keeping with the spirit, something red, something sparkly and something warm
Grazia Daily: Can you ever wear too much sparkle?
Julien Macdonald: Yes, you can – you could end up looking like the Christmas tree!
Grazia Daily: Which is your favourite piece in the Debenhams ad?
Julien Macdonald: The Julien Macdonald jumpsuit - it will inject high octane glamour into any party and create a gorgeous silhouette on the dance floor.
Grazia Daily: How do you celebrate Christmas?
Julien Macdonald: Always with my family, mum, dad, sisters and nephews. My mum and my sisters cook, I help my dad lay the table and of course I do the decorations
Grazia Daily: What do you want in your stocking this year?
Julien Macdonald: Picture frames – as I like putting up a lot of my holiday photos to keep the holiday feeling with me. I also collect crystal paper weights – so hopefully one of those would be nice and always some Elemis products. I use their muscle soak bath range for my aches and pains during Strictly and it was a god send.
Grazia Daily: Do you think you should dress up for Christmas day or be comfy in novelty jumpers?
Julien Macdonald: Both! Novelty jumpers are great fun and should be worn around Christmas to keep in the spirit of things. I love Christmas pyjamas though.
Grazia Daily: Who do you want to win Strictly?
Julien Macdonald: I think the girls are definitely stronger – It could be a dance off between Abby, Natalie and Susanna. It would be funny if Mark or Dave won though.
Grazia Daily: How do you think you should wear sparkle in the day time?
Julien Macdonald: You can wear diamante earrings or a brooch - both very acceptable for day.
Grazia Daily: Who do you think has the best party style?
Julien Macdonald: I think Nicole Sherzinger and Beyonce always look amazing, also Paloma Faith has great style. Another celeb is Sharon Osborne – she has great style and is looking amazing on the X-Factor.
