Grazia Daily let our inner 14-year-old run wild last night at the opening night of the Spice Girls musical. Viva Forever is based on the girl band's songs so we donned our buffalo wedges and Union Jack dress to meet the fab five at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B all hit the red carpet while Victoria Beckham swooped in with minutes to spare. VB looked as chic as ever in her own threads, naturallement, wearing a white shirt from her Spring Summer 2013 collection with a pair of black Isabel Marant trousers, accessorised with her picture-perfect family who were suited up in Burberry Tailoring. As for the rest of the girls, they were swathed in frothy-and-or-sparkling party frocks. ‘I had this dress made especially for this evening,' Geri told us. 'I absolutely love it.’
Inside the theatre, Lady Vics stayed wrapped up in an oh-so-chic burgundy coat and sat with hubby David as well as her three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz (presumably Little Harper was tucked up in bed). By the end of the performance - which was just as bonkers as you'd expect - all five ladies appeared on stage for a ginormous group hug. N'aww! Mel B said, 'That was f**ing amazing!' while Victoria said, 'Thank you and thank you to my family who are all here tonight.'
Onto the after party and the girls were joined by their families - and, err, Joan Collins - for a top-notch Christmas dinner. There was turkey, stuffing and tonnes of smoked salmon, which was suitably delish. That Girl Power vibe was alive and well as the Spices climbed a-top a giant Viva sign, which had been erected at the back of the VIP area, and danced to their classic tunes from Stop to Spice Up Your Life.
Even Victoria threw some shapes on the dance floor, jumping around to Moves Like Jagger with her hairdresser Ken Paves. Meanwhile, cheeky Romeo Beckham - wearing a smart white shirt - was having a whale of a time, whizzing around between the guests' legs and feasting on chocolate. Noel Gallagher’s daughter, Anais, also joined in the fun with mum Meg Matthews and spent hours playing with Mel B's mini-me Phoenix. Hmm, is there a new Spice Girls group a-brewing? Here's hoping!
