Last night was the annual glitter fest that is the Victoria's Secret fashion show, and there was more glitter, angels, lean limbs, weighty wings and all around fabulousness than ever before. Grazia Daily was there to witness Taylor Swift's hair-flicking and Cara Delevingne making her way down the runway with a football up close - so we can fill you in on all of the details. They didn't scrimp on the sparkle as 67 looks appeared on the runway, modelled by 40 leggy angels. Sadly you'll have to wait till the 10 December to watch the show, so let us round up our top moments for you...
1. OMG it's Taylor Swift...
Yes we knew that Taylor was going to perform and we guessed she'd belt out I Knew You Were Trouble, but that didn't stop us having a severe case of Swift mania. Taylor fitted right in with the angels with her glossy locks and supermodel strut. Taylor, we salute you.
2. The fantasy bra...
As expected super angel Candice Swanepoel skipped down the glitter runway in a $10 million 'Fantasy Bra.' Gulp. Candice's Royal Fantasy bra is covered with 4,200 gems including rubies, diamonds and yellow saphires and also features a 52-carat, pear-shaped ruby in the centre. Cara D clearly saw the Instagram value in the bra.
3. The British Invasion
As usual the show was divided up into themes with Snow Angels, Shipwrecked, Parisian Nights, Pink Network, Birds of Paradise and our personal favourite, Brit Invasion. Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Donaldson and newbie Malaika Firth stormed the runway in the Brit Invasion segment, where performer Taylor Swift wore a Union Jack dress with a teeny tiny Union Jack top hat.
4. We mean it, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn dominated
We had an exclusive chat with Jourdan and Cara backstage, and instead of telling us how much water they’d drunk in the past 72 hours, we heard about Dominos chicken strippers, Call of Duty and the perils of having to be sexy all day long... What's not to love about these girls?!
5. Karlie Kloss did a Britney
We haven't seen a nude bodysuit covered in strategically placed sparkles
this good since Britney Spears in her Toxic video. Taylor Swift in sparkles in the background made the moment even more magical.
6. The angels gave us shoe envy
The strategically placed bras and pants are works of art and the 28 wings created especially for the show were phenomenal, but like any Grazia girl we were distracted by the feathery, mega-high stilettos. Here's a quick shoe fact for you - the average heel height of the models' Nicholas Kirkwood shoes was 6 inches.
7. There is a room for the wings
Yep there was a 'Wing Room,' where all the incredible 28 Angel wings were stored pre-show. From huge feathered structures to punk inspired tartan plumes, some were ungainly while others looked more manageable.
8. It was all a bit BONKERS
Cara Delevingne wore yellow rubber gloves with her black corset, Doutzen Kroes dressed as an Eskimo with huge fur cuffs and models carried emoticon balloons. It was bizarre but we LOVED it!
9. The hair and makeup is a military operation
Let us give you the facts - there were 26 make up artists, 22 hair stylists and 8 manicurists ready to give the models the Angel makeover. There were 120 applications of VS volume lift mascara, 80 applications of VS makeup shine drama lip gloss and 25 ghd Dimaond Gold professional stylers plugged in to create the tumbling Angel hair.
10. There's a new It Brit in the line up - Malaika Firth
We knew 19-year-old Malaika Firth from Barking was going to be BIG (and we're talking Cara Delevingne big), when in July it was revealed that she was the second black model to front a Prada campaign. The first was Naomi Campbell in 1994. She walked for the first time in the Victoria's Secret show in an emoticon onesie, carrying a smiley face balloon, last night. But she's at home on the runway as she walked in 56 shows during the Spring Summer 2014 season.
11. Brit girl group Neon jungle performed
Neon Jungle brightened things up with their jazzy colour blocking and high octane performance. Expect big things from this UK girl group.
12. The glitter catwalk
The 100 feet runway was covered in sparkling glitter, which moved when the Nicholas Kirkwood stilettos stomped down the runway. Magical!
