Victoria Beckham has crossed another milestone off her fashion bucket list, as she has landed the job as fashion editrix. No she hasn't usurped the Wintour, but played Emanuelle Alt and sat in the editor's chair at Vogue Paris. VB guest edited the Christmas issue and filled the glossy pages with family photographs, drawings from her four children and Victoria's favourite Christmas memories. Scribbles from Harper? This is even better than the time she appeared on Ugly Betty!
That's not all as there is an intimate cover of David and Victoria, shot by iconic photographers Inez & Vinoodh. They look unbelievably perfect in their coupley cover, as VB wears a black gown (natch) and David smoulders in a tux. Paris Vogue comments that David was at Vic's side throughout her whole time at the helm of the publication.
We also get to see a day in the life of Victoria Beckham, from going backstage at her Spring/Summer 2014 show, to a look around her favourite Paris hotspots, to tea in London with friends Valentino Garavani, Anish Kapoor and Marc Jacobs. Oh it's good to be Victoria Beckham.
The editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt writes inside the mag: 'We entrusted the editor's chair for this issue to a woman who revealed herself to be the absolute opposite of her public image while we were working together. Spontaneous and full of humor, she's modest, with a healthy dose of ambition. And like all those who are truly passionate about what they do, Victoria is a perfectionist.'
They've come a long way since the Posh n' Becks era when style-wise, baseball caps and matching leather ruled, with David making a brief – and much derided - foray into sarongs. As for the neon Cavalli skeletons in her closet, VB told us that she doesn't wince at old pictures. ‘People always say, “Do you cringe?” And I say, “Not at all.” Everybody changes. I love fashion, and I love changing my style, my hair, my make-up, and everything I’ve done in the past has made me what I am now. Not everyone is going to like what I do, but I look back at everything, and it makes me smile.’
