Lily Donaldson strikes a pose for Uniqlo
Uniqlo’s previous campaign scoops are plentiful: over the years the Japanese super-label has bagged such high profile names as Charlize Theron, Orlando Bloom, Agyness Deyn and Tavi Gevison. The existing list could go on for yonks, but you’ll no doubt be most interested in who the brand’s new faces are for the new season. Right? Right.

Yesterday the news came that angel-faced model Lily Donaldson would be fronting the first of the new ‘Lifewear’ campaigns; presenting the luxurious – but reasonably prices – silk collection. As you may remember from GraziaDaily’s press trip to Paris earlier this year, Uniqlo’s new overarching concept is now called ‘Lifewear’ and it simply means that all of the store’s essentials like cashmere, silk, down-puffas or denim have been divided into their rightful categories. ‘I think it is very versatile,' Donaldson says of the silk range, 'It can be smart, or just a great basic, but it's always really special.’

Following Donaldson’s appointment, one previous Uniqlo campaign girl – a certain Miss Chloe Sevigny - has returned for the new season, bringing a very cool cast with her. Starring alongside Trifecta for Uniqlo’s cashmere division, Purple magazine’s Olivier Zahm took on the role of creative director while photographer Ryan McGinley was behind the camera. ‘The flowers are a pure symbol of the sensuality and femininity of silk,' says Zahm of the first shoot, 'We chose Lily because she has a great personal energy and is very feminine.’
