Last night, London fashion’s good and great gathered together to celebrate Peter Pilotto’s collaboration with Target which will be sold in the UK (and worldwide) for the first time through Net a Porter. The duo behind the brand, Peter and Christopher de Vos were also riding high off the back of their Vogue Fashion Fund Award – a gong which comes complete with a £200,000 cash injection.

Aside from the sumptuous meal which was served along a long banquet table at Bloomsbury’s Dairy Art Centre, us lucky editors were also treated to a sneak peek of the tie-in collection. From mesmerising prints, gorgeous dresses and even a host of pretty swimwear, there’s everything a girl could need for her wardrobe. Of course this isn’t the first stellar collaboration that the US ‘discount’ retailer has created – indeed the rollcall of names is impressive, including Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurang, Mulberry, Missoni, Proenza Schouler and Jason Wu (yep, basically all the coolest brands in the biz)– but it’s the first time we’ll be able to get our mitts on it.

Happily we can report the prints are as chic in the flesh as they are in the lookbook and the quality of the fabric far surpasses expectations – considering the extremely accessible price point (starting at £15).
Another highlight of the evening was the superb lighting – while we always like to party under flattering bulbs, the ambiance created by Jonny Lu for Bureau Betak for the evening was spellbinding. Aside from the kaleidoscopic Peter Pilotto prints projected onto the table, we also had flashing floors all combined with endless candelabras.

So all that’s left to say now is get 9th February in your diary and make sure you wake up early to log on – this collaboration is certainly not going to be hanging around.
