VH1 Are Making A Film About Girl Band TLC! Let's Chart Their '90s-tastic Fashion History

'90s fashion are totally back in fashion. Throwback parties are all the rage and Cher Horowitz of Clueless and Gwen Stefani in her No Doubt days are still our ultimate style icons. But there are some looks from the decade - head to toe tie-dye, baggy jeans worn around the ankles and bras as tops with matching coloured cargo pants - that must never EVER be revisited. TLC, we're talkin' to you.

The trio who recorded songs like Waterfall, Unpretty, Creep and Scrubs were one of the biggest bands of the '90s - they recorded with the Puff Daddy, opened for MC Hammer and won four Grammys. Now the story of the tie-dye lovin' band is being made into a movie. Oh yes!

Finally the story of Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins, Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas and Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez is being made into a TV biopic by VH1 and they have already found their band: Keke Palmer, Lil Mama, and Drew Sidora have been cast to play the band in Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story. This is going to be IN-CRED.

Filming starts next month, so we won't be able to see how they transform into the '90s-tastic trio for quite a while, but that won't stop us from going down the TLC memory lane. We might all secretly listen to Creep now and again, but their fashion is another story. Remember TLC were a band in the 90s, so their number one style rule was to always, always match. They were even more extreme than 'N Sync.

When they started out in the early 90s they wore traffic light baggy hoodies and they often had TLC on their chests. Aluminium foil was their fabric of choice, they liked wearing their brightly coloured hair in bizarre braided buns and they had no problem with their clothes being graffitied in neon paint.

The outfits in their music video for Creep are textbook TLC, as they wore men's baggy jeans around their knees with big check boxer shorts underneath and then silky robe-esque outfits in hot pink, orange and blue.

Put in your headphones, listen to Scrubs below and look through TLC's style transformation in the gallery above...
