The J.W. Anderson slot at London Fashion Week always pulls in the it-Brits, with Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe, Derek Blasberg and more FROW-ing. Each season Alexa and co rock the latest it J Dubs knits, but at the Spring Summer 2014 show at London Collections: Men on Monday expect to see some flashy new J W Anderson camera bags perched on their knees.
J Dubs has now joined forces with Nikon to create a luxury leather camera bag, to fit the Nikon 1 camera. He was inspired by classic 1940s camera cases, creating a simple bag with a single strap in black, white, cobalt blue and halib orange leather. The main feature is the J Dubs anchor icon on the front.
The designer said of the design: 'The inspiration behind the bag was that it would have a hint of a 1940s classic, but with a very modern twist, with bold block colours and a totally unisex look.'
We didn't think something as practical as a camera bag could be quite so stylish. Snaps for Nikon, as this is the first time they have collaborated with a fashion house, just in time for London Collections: Men.
J.W. Anderson said of his collab with Nikon: 'Photography is just as much of an art form as fashion, so the partnership made complete sense to me. Taking pictures is integral to what I do – I take thousands during the creation of a collection – and I have always ensured my designs are accessible for everyone, just as photography is.'
The designer's number one fan, Alexa Chung, is super snap-happy, documenting all angles of fashion week via her Instagram feed. But she doesn't just settle for blurry iPhone catwalk shots, as she has been spotted on the front row with serious cameras, so we reckon Alexa will be the first to be spotted at fashion week with a J Dubs camera case.
But if you want to give your camera the J.W. Anderson touch you'll have to move quickly, as there are only 400 limited edition bags available on the Nikon Store from Monday, at £85 a pop.
