The Met Ball Is TONIGHT! But The Party Doesn't Start There - See What The Stars Wore To The Pre-Party

05 May 2014 by

In just a few hours anyone who is anyone in planet fashion will be hiking up the 72 steps in weighty couture to shake hands with fashion's gatekeeper: Anna Wintour. That's right, the 2014 Met Ball is tonight people! Fashion's elite the likes of Victoria Beckham and Nicole Richie have already begun making their way to NYC, while those already present are partying it up at pre-Met ball parties.

Hairstylist Harry Josh's second annual Pre Met-Ball bash seems to have been the place to be on Saturday night with Leonardo Dicaprio's new girlfriend Toni Garrn partying alongside Gisele Bundchen. A bit awkward, we imagine, considering the two blonde beauts have more than just their hair colour in common... Dicap also dated Bundchen. Eek!

Karlie Kloss, Kate Bosworth and Taylor Swift also showed off their blossoming friendship, posing with their arms around each other, Taylor looking bright and youthful in an orange tailored dress that fell just above the knee, while Victoria's Secret model Karlie opted for a navy blue two-piece which showcased her envy enducingly flat midriff. Other guests included Anne Hathaway, Joan Smalls, Miranda Kerr, and Mario Testino.

We can hardly wait to see what the stars will be wearing tonight! The theme of the ball this year is... 'White Tie and Decorations' aka big 'ol ball gowns. This year's exhibition is dedicated to British-born designer (and Mr anti-punk) Charles James. He is a hugely influential New York designer who created elegant ball gowns in the 40s and 50s. James was close friends with Cecil Beaton, was highly respected by the likes of Christian Dior and was often dubbed 'a great friend of the French couture.' We have put together a guide of everything you could possibly need to know about this years event - including important facts such as what Lupita Nyong'o is wearing.

We'll be bringing you the inside scoop as it happens tonight so stay tuned to Grazia Daily. In the meantime, check out what the celebs wore to the Pre Met-Ball bash in the gallery above...
