Balenciaga's latest image from their advertising campaign
What is it with Alexander Wang’s dislike of the female head? We saw a preview of his ad campaign back in April, showing iconic model Kristen McMenamy disappearing behind a door wearing the cocoon style tailoring from his first collection for Balenciaga. Steven Klein snapped McMenamy for Wang’s first ever Balenciaga campaign, and after that teaser pic, we’ve just got our hands on the second shot from the campaign, and its prim and proper prettiness was well worth the wait.

Once again we see a headless model this time sitting pretty with the brand new leather doctor’s bag neatly resting on her knee, wearing the glorious cut out black shift dress with tulip waist and ultra-chic safety pin details which Carey Mulligan wore to the Met Ball last month. It might not have been the most punk look of the night, but there’s no denying she looked incredible.

So far, two dark and moody images in black and white represent perfectly the austere, monochrome mood of the show. We’re hoping the next shot Balenciaga release will feature some of Wang’s glorious cracked leather knits which were such a stand out feature of the show for us.
