04 June 2013 by

The CFDA Awards took place last night in New York, attracting the biggest names in fashion from Oscar de la Renta to Riccardo Tisci. On the red carpet Jessica Chastain wore sleek, black custom Givenchy, Hailee Steinfeld wore a tummy flashing Suno dress and Olivia Palermo was a vision in gold in Dennis Basso. But what happened off the red carpet? Take a look at the highlights from inside the ceremony below, including the full list of winners...

Hilary Clinton pitches a new TV show 'Project Pantsuit'

Hillary Clinton presented Oscar de la Renta with the prestigious Founder's Award, and gave a heart felt speech that got all the fashion peeps up on their stilettos. Hils made a joke or two as she pitched a reality tv show Project Pantsuit, and came out with the line 'I was then, as I am now, such a fashion icon.' Oscar de la Renta thanked Hillary for her kind words, by saying 'Perhaps she wouldn't like me to say this, but I think she's going to be our next president.' Cue loud cheers from the Democrat crowd.

A Sex and the City cameo

Host Andy Cohen's opening speech included a clip of his Sex and the City cameo where he played retail's prince charming, slipping white Manolos onto SJP's feet. While his joke about Clinton's scrunchies went down as well as Carrie's battle with Berger about the scrunchie. Didn't you learn anything from your SATC cameo Ands?

The Proenza Schouler boys win and forget to prepare a speech (even though they've won twice before)

Proenza Schouler's boys Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernande bagged the top award last night, as they were presented with the Womenswear Designer of the Year by Kerry Washington. They beat Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, and said they had not prepared a speech. They were clearly delighted, taking selfies with their award backstage. We'd do exactly the same thing guys.

The award for the most adorable presenters goes to...

The modern day Romeo and Juliet, Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth. Obvs. These two heartbreakers presented Pamela Love with the Swarovski emerging designer award. We can't decide what we are crushing on the most - Hailee's dress or Doug's face. Oh my we are going to enjoy the Romeo & Juliet promo tour.

Zac Posen went for a spin with Juliette Lewis

To show off her vintage peach Zac Posen frock, Juliette twirled with the designer to get some movement in that full skirt. How sassy of you Zac. We have a feeling they practiced this routine a couple of times before hitting the red carpet.
