It feels like just the other day the fashion week frenzy came to a halt, but the Christmas lights are coming on, the festive adverts are rolling in and the weather is plummeting which means only one thing: it's almost time for Fashion Week again! And kicking it all off is London Collections: Men, which has this morning announced its show dates. Starting off on January 6th, the shows will run to January 8th.
Burberry Prorsum is one of the last shows on the schedule, showing at 2pm on January 8th. "Great news" for London, according to a spokesperson for the BFC, as this means more international press and buyers will remain in town for the duration of the shows. Especially important as LC:M will be overlapping for two days with Pitti Uomo ("The world’s most important platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections"), which is scheduled to run from January 7th to January 10th. Gaetano Marzotto, president of Pitti Immagine, took to the event's website to say that though it had not been possible to postpone Pitti Uomo for 2014, starting January 2015 the event would be pushed back so as not to overlap. Great news for London!
The forthcoming London Collections: Men lineup sees new additions from the likes of Louis Leeman Paris, Newgen-sponsored brands Common and Kit Neale, Smythson, John Lobb, Crombie and Kent & Curwen - who opened its first store on Savile Row this week. A. Sauvage and Casely-Hayford are also both set to stage catwalk shows for the first time.
