Cannes was invaded by an army of supermodels, as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Karlie Kloss, Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls, Liberty Ross, Karolina Kurkova and 38 others walked in Carine Roitfeld's amFAR Fashion Show. The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show was a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor, so we were expecting to see a gold-tastic red carpet with more sequins than in Elton's wardrobe.
But it was the Met Gala all over again, with stars rebelling against the theme. Last night the colour of Cannes was white. Sharon Stone IS Cannes this week, and she wowed in a white Roberto Cavalli floorsweeper. White hasn't looked this smokin' since Basic Instinct. Rosie Huntington Whiteley wore a simple white strapless frock, paired with an on trend white stiletto, while Kylie Minogue wore a white draped Grecian Cavalli frock.
You can however always rely on Paris Hilton to bring some sparkle. Paris testing out minimal white? Think again. This heiress wore a candy pink gown covered in sparkles, with a see through train covered in pink sparkly feathers. Paris' sartorial aim is to dress like a feather boa.
Olivia Palermo is usually Ms Oscar de la Renta, but last night she got Cannes-ed. As she wore a Cavalli leopard print frock, with cut-outs slashed at the waist, ruching and a thigh high slit. If this is what Cannes can do to Olivia Palermo, it's true that this town really IS ruled by Roberto Cavalli.
The lovely Bonnie Wright shared with us an exclusive picture of herself before she hit the red carpet. The actress looked oh so elegant in a plunging black Prada gown with dramatic Gatsby stylee Wright & Teague gold earrings. We like.
