If you haven’t heard of Casadei’s Blades you clearly haven’t been keeping up with the A-List tootsies. Since Casadei’s Blade heels hit the shop floor back in 2011, there’s barely a red carpet trooper who hasn’t been papped in them. With fans including Cameron Diaz, Kristen Stewart and Jessica Alba, the lethal looking Blade is the Hollywoood IT-shoe du jour. So what’s the fuss all about? Combining the perfect pointy pump (ideal for adding edge to both jeans and dresses) with a bad-ass metal spike heel, the Blade is definitely in Shoe Kryptonite territory. But it’s the rainbow bright shades and cool colour combos that have taken the style into the realms of wardrobe must-have.
Victoria Beckham Working her Casadei Blades
Just ask Victoria Beckham who has been spotted in her Blades on so many occasions we are starting to wonder if her 125mm stilettos are surgically attached. Working a cream colour way with black piping and a pair of black suede Blades, La Beckham is understandably enamoured. As we all know VB was a long term proponent of the platform pump and as they’ve now fallen out of fashion grace, it’s logical that she would plump for one of the highest single soled pumps on the market. With serious leg lengthening properties, the Blades are definitely not for high heel beginners. But with several styles available from the ankle strap Valentina to the T-Bar Softymetal, if you’re up for the challenge the Blade heel is well worth the effort.
Cesare Casadei the designer behind the 54-year-old Italian family brand agrees and reckons the excitement is all down to “the contrast between the razor sharp metal and beautiful fabrics” while Kim Kardashian calls them “the perfect hot heel,” tweeting pictures of herself in dayglo pink Blades. Available in a sweetshop variety of shades in leather, silk and suede, you may find yourself considering a very expensive collection. So watch out Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and co. - there’s a new A-list stiletto in town! Click through to see which other A-listers have fallen for the Blade’s charms.
