It’s often been said that the airport is the new catwalk so with that in mind, its often the place to spot a new trend emerging. However, recently the look that’s gained the most A-list traction is dividing opinion here in Grazia HQ. Skin-tight leather trousers have long been a wardrobe staple, but there’s something about the thought of the, ahem, sweat situation that has never made us associate them with in-flight wear.
The best cut leather trousers will cling resolutely to your curves and follow the line of your legs closely, meaning they are a bitch to get on and off. And while we can imagine First Class reclining is a slightly different experience than the cattle run, the choice of leathered up legs is perhaps not the most comfortable of options.
Of course fans of the A-list leather look which include Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Angelina Jolie and serial airport leather pant wearer Paris Hilton have to face the paps at the departure gates and there’s no denying the look is both sexy and chic.
M&S cashmere trousers and onseise, our preferred in-flight option
But if all that trussing up seems too much of an effort on top of long haul jet lag, we would suggest a more luxuriously comfy option. We’ve long been fans of M&S cashmere pyjama bottoms (£99) which paired with layers on top offer sufficient warmth for icy cabin temperature at take off but as they are made of wool can also breathe preventing excessive sweating. The ones above were even designed in collaboration with Ms Huntington Whiteley herself. And now M&S have come up with a cashmere onesie (£199), there is an even more indulgent update on offer.
