While there has been much discussion about the absence of Givenchy from this season’s haute couture schedule - due to designer Riccardo Tisci’s hectic diary - there's plenty to look forward on the Autumn 2013 roster. Below we chart the top 5 things that are whetting our anticpation for the new couture season!
1. Lacroix for Schiaparelli
First up is one of the most exciting comebacks we’ve heard of in several seasons. Ever since the announcement was made last year that the Schiaparelli brand was to be re-launched by the Tods Group, there’s been endless speculation about who might take the top job at the house. While we still don’t have any concrete answers, we do know for sure that legendary designer Christian Lacroix will be presenting a one-off capsule collection for Schiaparelli during the Couture shows.

2. Red Carpet Winners
As well as the regulars who we’ll be hotly watching, we’re also looking forward to seeing collections from some of the more obscure designers both on and off the official schedule. Zuhair Murad has had a stellar year, dressing some of Hollywood’s finest from Kristen Stewart to Jennifer Lopez. So we’re always excited to see his red carpet worthy creations – perhaps there will even be some award season contenders on show.

3. Couture Beginners
We’ll also be looking forward to seeing Moscow based couturier and street style favourite Ulyana Sergeenko, whose Russian fantasies have been captivating the fash-pack. With all her besties from Miroslava Duma to Natalia Vodianova potentially in attendance, there will be some top grade street fashion to be snapped as well.

4. The Must-See Exhibition
And of course it wouldn’t be couture without a Karl moment – this season Fendi is putting on an exhibition of Karl’s photographs inspired by Rome’s awesome fountains. So ample to get excited about, bring on Couture Autumn 2013!

5. The Couture FROW
With Christian Dior and Chanel regularly pulling in the A-list, we will be looking forward to appearances from Marion Cortillard et al. However, our favourite star attendees are always the more random of the bunch – just think Cher’s appearance at last season’s ready to wear shows, for example!
