Stella's tennis stars in the Barricade collection
After Stella McCartney’s Olympic style smashes with adidas and the GB team last year, we weren’t surprised to fall head over sneakers for the designer’s latest offering for Wimbledon.
It’s been eight years since Stella first teamed up with adidas and now her third dedicated tennis collection - ‘Barricade’ - will be worn by some of the hottest tickets of the women’s tournament: Caroline Wozniacki, Andrea Petkovic and Laura Robson (the current Brit hope). The range fuses high-end technology with McCartney’s coolly feminine twist on sportswear staples – and we’re convinced that neon yellow tennis skirt with a pep-hemmed frill could help we amateurs with a stronger drive volley. The right kit for the job is an instant confidence booster explains Caroline, “The new adidas by Stella McCartney barricade range makes me feel secure and comfortable on court.”

‘Tennis is really one of the sport disciplines that I design that can really house feminine styles with high performance,’ says Stella. ‘We achieve this in our use of colour and cut as well as using all the latest technology. I am really proud to work with these incredible athletes to launch the collection.’
As to be expected, there’s plenty of shiny Daz-whites on offer – with those dashes of tennis ball hi-vis yellow – but you’ll also find soft, tonal blues and fluro orange all modeled on super-Dane Miss Wozniacki in the video below.

Once again Stella has won game, set and match! But how will the girls accessorise? We all know the jingle jangle of statement jewellery or a flash of bright sporty undies is never far away….
