About a million years ago GraziaDaily reported that a young cordwainer had won a design competition to see their shoes produced and sold in River Island stores. That triumphant talent was Sophia Webster. Since then Sophia has come on leaps and global bounds with her ultra-fun shoes and bags, scooping up a range of high profile stores, collaborations, celebrity followers, column inches and now a double whammy of American support.

Last night Sophia’s sexy-but-sweet heels hit the glitteriest runway in the biz: that of Victoria’s Secret. The Angels strutted their stuff in twelve of the shoe designer's high heeled creations for the occasion at The Lexington Armory in New York. We caught up with Sophia today and she explained the prestige of being involved in such a production: ‘It was really amazing seeing all those stunning women wearing my shoes. I felt really starstruck! When I was Nicholas Kirkwood's design assistant helping with the Victoria's Secret show shoes was a real highlight of my job so to be asked to design the shoes this year for their "Shipwrecked" group was a real honour,’ she says, ‘They also featured my speech bubble clutch bags in the "PINK" section of the show.’

In addition to this coup, another of America’s style stalwarts has enlisted the talents of Sophia. J Crew’s spring/summer 2014 collection features a dedicated collection of stilettos from Miss Webster, and when Jenna Lyons took GraziaDaily on a private tour of the new flagship store on London’s Regent Street last week, she had given them her seal of approval, choosing a monochrome pointed pair to style up with her shoulder-robed camel coat and embellished knit.

And we’re not alone in our Jenna Lyons crush either.‘I have loved working with J Crew. They have been so enthusiastic and positive about the project and really encouraged me to put my own stamp and personality into the shoes. I had a lot of fun designing them, using the J Crew seasonal prints and mixing them with my own signature details and colours. And of course Jenna Lyons is such a style visionary so working with her has been a total dream come true, not to mention we all have a major girl crush on her in the SW office!’
