Sofia Coppola's just bagged a very prestigious summer job! She's been confirmed as one of the jurors for this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The Bling Ring director - who's currently working on a live-action Little Mermaid movie - is following in the footsteps of 2013 juror Nicole Kidman. She'll be joined by The Piano director Jane Campion as well as French actress Carole Bouquet, Iranian actress Leila Hatami, South Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon and four other judges.

Of course, Cannes is as much about glitz and glamour as it is about the films - and we're hoping Sofia's going to bring-it style wise. Not only has she got a super chic personal style, she's also starred in ad campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton and designed for both Vuitton (an accessories line) and her own short-lived clothing line Milkfed.
Sofia's certainly got a go-to Cannes look. It seems each year she attends she fills her suitcase to the brim with elegant monochrome pieces. Keeping her colour palette neutral and her hair and make-up groomed but natural, she plays around with the texture and cut of her outfits. Whether it's a simple black shift - but in sparkling fabric, a dog-tooth dress - with tumbling ruffles or a black skater dress - in HUGE volume tulle, Sofia knows how to add a touch of fun to each look.

What will Sofia wear this year? We hope she sticks to her usual cool texture - monochrome palette formula and maybe calls in a few favours from her fashion designer friends - because there were some uber-chic black and white pieces in the Autumn Winter 2014 collections.
A white Dior mini with an symmetric hem would look perfect in the Cannes sunshine, a sparkling Alexander McQueen number with a feather trim would be a dramatic choice and a rippling Lanvin satin would slip easily into Sofia's wardrobe. Our number one choice though? A super-cool (almost scaley) Louis Vuitton slip dress.
