Grazia's Big Fashion Issue is out! If you've already seen it, you'll know it's a mega 260-pages packed with hot new season pieces, a look at the hotly anticipated Rihanna for River Island collection and an introduction to H&M’s new sister store, & Other Stories. Did we mention the 500+ season looks? But just in case you need anymore persuading to pick it up, here’s a sneak peek at the day we spent in Milan with Donatella Versace and her equally fabulous Versace muse – Audrey the Jack Russell.
The first thing you need to understand about the pampered pub? ‘Audrey is not a dog,’ explains Donatella. In fact she’s every inch the formidable fashion force, just like Donatella herself. Clad in a gold studded leather jacket (Versace of course), Audrey is frequently snapped by paparazzi and Versace fans alike. A natural, she’s is totally comfortable with all the cameras and commotion that follow the ultimate fashion duo.
Named after Audrey Hepburn ('It was either Marilyn or Audrey. Audrey is not a blonde' states Donatella), the little Jack Russell has quickly become Donatella's best friend, her boss, the brunette to her blond. Donatella tells us 'she looks into my eyes so deeply sometimes, and I talk to her and swear she understands me'. How would you desribe Audrey? 'not generous, or particularly friendly' but she is 'Exciting. Inspiring. Very, very loyal, Energetic. And very opinionated'. Well what more could you want from a furry fashion companion?
So what’s it like to live with another Versace woman is the house? ‘She’s totally demanding – more than I am. Absolutely’ Donatella revealed. It’s hard to imagine anyone getting the upper hand on Donatella, but Donatella doesn’t seem to mind - 'If anybody's my boss, it's Audrey'. The pampered pooch has special oil rubbed into her skin each morning to keep her fur looking it’s best, before getting started on her busy schedule: exercising in the park, heading to model fittings, splurging at the pet salon, posing for paps, looking fabulous and finally snuggling up in her (leopard print) bed. Well, would you expect anything less for the dog of Donatella Versace? She's 'a Versace woman' afterall.
