Let The Great Gatsby Tour Begin! Carey Mulligan And Leonardo DiCaprio Hit The New York Premiere

02 May 2013 by

After the incredibly A-list Gatsby gang turned out in force on Monday night for the Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin exhibition, we knew that the premiere in New York's Lincoln Centre last night would be an equally fashionable affair. The cast and crew of Baz Luhrmann's much awaited Great Gatsby film donned their finery and hit the red carpet for the film's premiere last night.

The belle of the ball, and star of the show Carey Mulligan looked breathtaking in Lanvin, opting for a perfect-fit bandeau bodice dress in bright red, and paired them with rather retro platform sandals by Brian Atwood. We love this dainty little look for Carey, her simple Tiffany & Co jewellery and streamline silhouette is as ladylike as they come. It looks like Carey is shrugging off her sweet girly style and is going all grown up for this season! Anna Wintour was in attendance too, looking classic and pristine in a white Chanel dress, head to toe tonal with matching accessories.

Our other absolute favourite from the night is Isla Fisher, who wore a perfectly springtime black floral gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The concentration of floewrs at the top fading down to sheer crochet is the perfect leg-lengthening trick for a petite actress like Ms Fisher - balancing sweetness and sexiness just so!

Leonardo DiCaprio on being nervous about the role

The Gatsby gentlemen scrubbed up rather well too. Jay-Z who performed on and produced the movie's soundtrack looked dapper in a grey Prince of Wales check suit, while Luhrmann, Tobey Maguire and our favourite Romeo ever, Leonardo DiCaprio went matching in sleek navy blue suits. Looking good boys.

Peruse through our gallery above to see what Carey, Florence Welch, Anna Wintour, Isla Fisher, Emeli Sandi, Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the cast wore to last night's premiere of The Great Gatsby...
