Sci-Fi enthusiasts live for the international Comic-Con convention in San Diego each year. We could take or leave the core event, but once you work your way through the attendees dressed as Gollum/dinosaurs/baddies or the inventive types creating their own new and wacky characters, what Comic-Con really supplies for we fashion lovers is an injection of summertime styling from celebrity-land. And dealing with this sudden heatwave is way more important than CGI or... something.
So forget the latest superhero flick or that nerdy computer game people are putting their social lives on hold for, just who is there this year? And what are they wearing?
Andrew Garfield and Henry Cavill at Comic-Con 2013
First, a quick mention must go to a couple of the boys in attendance: Spiderman aka Andrew Garfield for a very fetching colour-blocked bomber jacket and Superman aka Henry Cavill just for being, well, Henry Cavill-ish.
As for the ladies, you won’t find fancy gowns or OTT evening-styling at Comic-Con, instead it’s a hotbed for hot-weather wardrobe inspiration. Floaty jumpsuits and unashamedly pretty sundresses will make appearances, as will a mannish trouser look or two. Jeans are also very welcome.
Hailee Steinfeld's comic-cool nails
We’re particularly keen on Olivia Munn’s polka-dotted onesie, Hailee Steinfeld’s comic-book nails (that’s the kind of subtle sartorial nod we appreciate) and Zoe Kravitz looking cooler-than-cool in black leather. Scroll through the gallery above for the best looks.
