It feels like we've waited a lifetime for Sarah Jessica Parker to dip her toes into the world of retail, but now it looks as if she's about to dive in head first. The actress, who is best known for playing the role of fashion addict Carrie Bradshaw in HBO's Sex & The City last week revealed her first footwear collection to be sold at Nordstrom and now there's confirmation that she'll take on the role of curator for new accessories ecommerce website WeTheAdorned.
The brainchild of Tim McElwee and Cyia Batten, WeTheAdorned will serve as a platform for designers who will create a limited run of product to be sold exclusively on the site. It's a members only shopping experience with premium and non-premium options, but those who sign up will have access to a handpicked selection of labels, including Pamela Love, Dannijo, Fenton and Fallon, Erickson Beamon, Lulu Frost, Lizzie Fortunato and Paige Novick.
SJP will be using her fashion know-how to edit the latest product to launch on the site every Monday. Prices range from $50 to $1,000. McElwee explained, “We might only make 200 units of one piece. We’re providing a platform for designers that allows them to have a destination where they can sell their best pieces in a way that they can make money. We’re marketing the designers, not WeTheAdorned; it’s a really big differentiator.”
That and the fact that it's got one of the world's biggest style icons on board could ensure WeTheAdorned's success.
