Forget the gloomy weather, Rupert Sanderson is all we need to get in the spring spirit. Grazia Daily popped along to the designer's 'Spring has Sprung' event last week where Mr Sanderson was joined by Mariella Frostrup to celebrate the installation of no less than ONE THOUSAND! daffodils at the Bruton Street store.
And there's a charming story behind these daffodils. When Rupert Sanderson launched his accessories label 10 years ago, he stumbled across an antique book of daffodils and discovered there were over 24,000 types. Who knew?! Every single shoe he has designed ever since has been christened after this iconic yellow flower so how to mark this love-affair with the daffodil? By erecting a ginormous version of 'Elba', Rupert's signature stiletto, built from the seasonal flowers. How marvellous!
Grazia Daily took the chance to grill the lovely Sanderson on everything from his fashion advice to be-shoeing a certain Duchess...
