For all the high profile fashion campaigns, runways and Hollywood movie roles in the world, the divine Rosie Huntington-Whiteley achieved one of her most significant ambitions last night at the launch of her new sleepwear range for Autograph at M&S: that of becoming a designer.

Brit model/actress Rosie has been creating her lingerie line for the high street behemoth since August 2012, however, for the past two years the Transformers star has been also working alongside Soozie Jenkinson, Head of Lingerie Design, to produce this range of cosy cashmere wraps, silky slips and perfect PJs, all available in store now. 'When I came to London aged 16 and started modeling, I always secretly wanted to be a designer. So tonight it feels like I’ve come full circle,’ Rosie explained to her dinner party guests at Mayfair’s Dover Street Arts Club.

Between sourcing the lace and silks, through to the intensive construction lingerie requires, it can take six months or more from idea to completion. Despite Rosie’s excitement to present this new line, there's a certain anti-climax when her head is already firmly planted in the future – with Spring Summer 2015 plans taking shape.

That doesn’t make her any less passionate about her fashion project: 'Each bra has 36 different components, so it makes you really appreciate the work that even goes into a high street piece let alone something haute couture. I’ve really started to understand fabrics and quality.’ So a fitting is the least a girl can do to make the most of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, we say!

RHW is her own best ambassador and the range isn’t solely for the boudoir: last night she styled a sheer evening blouse with one of her black lace brassieries and classic tuxedo pants. The rest of the collection is currently back home in L.A.  ‘I have it all hung up in my wardrobe, but I’m actually having to downscale as I can’t fit it all in. I sat down with my sister the other day and had a big clear out. I kept the pieces I would really wear all of the time.’

And we’re not just talking lingerie here. RHW’s ever-expanding wardrobe has found some relief via her very best style secret: a super-luxe haute storage company, who will repair, beautifully package and document your pieces into an archive. 'For red carpet gowns or big winter coats, it’s so helpful. I don’t want to get rid of them, but I know I won’t wear them all the time,’ she explains, ‘You can browse your online profile and see all of the pieces in store, and if you do want to wear something, they’ll get it to you wherever you are.’ Sounds like a genius plan for a girl who spends her time whizzing between her permanent base with boyfriend Jason Statham in Los Angeles, monthly trips to London for M&S and shoots across the world.

Just a few of the luxurious sleepwear pieces available online and in stores now! Prices range from £14 to £199, sizes range from 8-22.
