[Ain't Them Bodies Saints]
Rooney Mara burst onto our fashion radar when she played Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, and had a brutal transformation with her hair dyed black, eyebrows bleached and piercings. We're used to seeing Roons in purple lips and architectural couture, but she's freed from the Dragon and gone all romantic for her new role in Ain't Them Bodies Saints.
This is a beautiful Texas romance, about two star-crossed lovers. Here's our plot summary in under 20 words: An outlaw (Casey Affleck) escapes from prison and travels across Texas to reunite with his wife and their daughter. The good news is we have some exclusive images from the film. Forget nose rings and hair gel, Rooney's locks are long and tumbling and she is eye-liner free. These poetic images scream Great American epic.

We're using this as the perfect chance to look back at Rooney's dramatic style evolution. Rooney is the queen of minimal dressing, but that doesn't mean she's boring. Her emphasis is always on structure and silhouette, oh and a good dark lipstick. She made us all fall for cut-outs, as her dresses usually include at least one, such as the plunging Nina Ricci gown she wore to the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.
She is allergic to embellishment, wears little makeup (other than the lippie) and she usually opts for classic black shoes. Her focus is always on the clothes, or should we say the couture. You'll also rarely see Rooney in colour, as she sticks to black or white and the occasional splash of red.
