Roland Mouret's Winter Wedding Dresses: Which Stars Will Wear His Bridal Gowns?

29 November 2012 by

If you're planning a winter wedding then you'll be pleased to hear that king of body-con luxury Roland Mouret has designed a beautiful collection of bridal gowns for the season which are available exclusively at NET-A-PORTER. The five dresses include one short and four long frocks from the Breton matelasse gown which features a dramatic neckline, bow at the waist and an open back to the Compeyson open-back stretch-crepe gown with long sleeves and cascading ruffles.

The designer who has dressed some of the world's most famous women for the red carpet, including Rachel Bilson, Claire Danes and Jennifer Garner, is passionate about the idea of getting hitched in the chilly months of the year. He said, "The concept of winter brings a different attitude. If the weather's cold, you can cover up more, which can be magical." Mouret also avoided the frills and fussiness of a traditional meringue dress, instead sticking to his signature slim silhouette. The designer explained: "I wanted these dresses to be right for women of different ages. The key is that they are not girly. When someone gets married in France, we say they go from mademoiselle to madame and I think that's very important. A wedding dress shouldn't be too sexy, it must have an attitude, but still have a purity to it."

This is Mouret's first foray into the world of bridalwear and with the classic appeal of the styles on offer we think the collection is going to be a huge success with budding brides - perhaps even among the Hollywood style icons we've featured in the gallery above! Prices range from £1,600 to £4,100 and the dresses are available here.
