Need an excuse to go to New York? Well we've got a great one, as Roland Mouret has announced that he will open his first store in the city this summer. WWD reports that he plans on opening a 1,400-square-foot Upper East Side space, located at 925 Madison Ave.

The designer already has a London home over in Mayfair, which is a seriously luxurious shopping destination. So we expect his NY digs will be just as elegant. The designer has worked with Swedish architect Bozarth Fornell to create the interior.

This store will sell his ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, plus re-worked archive pieces. Of course Roland's signature is a sexy body-hugging dress, such as the black column gown Lily Allen wore during London Fashion Week.

So what are the iconic Roland red carpet moments? Remember the strapless peach RM gown Scarlett Johansson wore to the Golden Globes in 2005? The check classic pencil skirt with black belt seen on Keira Knightley? Of course Victoria Beckham is a big champion of Mr Mouret, as she wore a red strapless bustier dress to walk up the steps at the Met Ball in 2006.

Everyone in Hollywood has tried on a Roland Mouret dress, as everyone from Emma Watson to Jessica Chastain has had a Mouret moment. See his starry fan club in the gallery above...
