Rita Ora Works Stella McCartney’s Tread Shoes - Do You Love Or Hate?

From flatforms to Buffalos, thick-soled footwear has been having a major moment in the fashion sun. Adding several extra inches to a diminutive frame and having a certain underground, club kid kudos, the stacked sole has obvious appeal. This season’s 'It' update on the look is undoubtedly Stella McCartney’s heavy tread shoes. With industrial level thickness in palest white rubber, Stella’s soles were an immediate catwalk hit, and have now garnered the patronage of one of the hippest A-listers on the block.

Rita Ora has posted a series of Instagram pictures from her jaunt to Coachella in each of which she is sporting said soles. But it’s not the first time we’ve seen Ms Ora working the heavy treads as she has already been pictured in New York at Bridget Kelly’s party matching her Stella’s heels with a Saint Laurent tuxedo trouser and sequinned jacket.

So what are your feelings on the heavy tread Stella sole? Do you find them to heavy and clumpy for a summer wardrobe or do you think they offer the perfect antidote to girly, floaty dresses? Ms McCartney paired her shoes with long line skirt hems for her A/W 2013 collection, but do you feel they are better suited to micro cuts? Or like Rita do you feel they work with every look and come with the added bonus of offering a serious lift in height?
