Rita Ora On Madonna Material Girl

Rita Ora hanging out with Madonna, as you do

Earlier this month, Rita Ora bagged a mega sartorial coup when she was named as the new face of Material Girl, Madonna's fashion line with her daughter Lourdes Leon. The Brit singer took to Twitter to share the news: 'Joining forces with Madonna and Lola. It's official Ritabots - I'm the new face of Material Girl!'

We'll have to wait until July to see the full campaign starring La Ora - but in the meantime, we got the lowdown from the lady herself who was very, VERY excited with her new role. Yes, Grazia bumped into the blonde beauty at the DKNY event last week where she performed with Cara Delevingne before dishing on working with her Madgesty and that possible fashion line with her superstar wifey...

Grazia Daily: How was it working with Beyonce on the Chime For Change concert?

Rita Ora: I'm such a fan of what they've done as well so I think that is what I was so attracted to. It was such a powerful girl movement that I felt kind of honoured especially as she is my idol and she's a muse for so many people.

Grazia Daily: You're also working with Madonna as the new face of Material Girl - tell us about that.

Rita Ora: The campaign was really good fun to shoot. It's a London-based clothing line so we did a big shoot in London. It expressed me as a Material Girl from the perspective of being a 22-year-old from London and being a fan of music. In the past, they worked with Kelly Osbourne and Georgia May Jagger so it relates to girls either from a musical family or who are big fans of music.

Grazia Daily: Is a musical collaboration with Madonna on the cards?

Rita Ora: Oh my God, imagine that! I would literally die! I would be the happiest girl on the planet but I'm never going to ask her. When I met her, I was so nervous, I've never felt like that. It was such a moment. She was so nice. It was really brief as it was at Chime for Change and so many things were going on. I had met her before at the Met Ball, but obviously everyone wants to talk to her because she's Madonnna! But she took time out to speak to me, which was really nice. She's actually very easy to get in contact with now.

Grazia Daily: Where would you take her for a girls night in London?

Rita Ora: I don't know! She probably knows much better places than I do.

Grazia Daily: What could we expect from a Cara x Rita clothing line?

Rita Ora: Regardless of what Cara does, it's always amazing. We're both fans of clothes so you never know. I think we'd probably do something sporty and comfortable. She's just someone that is exactly like me.

Grazia Daily: And how's the new album coming along?

Rita Ora: The new album was started a week ago and then I'm going to fly to LA to finish it tomorrow. There's a few surprises especially with the Roc Nation family and a rapper that I've been a fan of since I was a little girl...

Grazia Daily: Sounds intriguing! Are you moving away from pop music?

Rita Ora: I am a pop artist but this album has got that soul that I was trained singing in. It's an obsession me and my dad had when I was growing up.

Grazia Daily: Finally, will you be doing more acting?

Rita Ora: After a few albums, I'll start thinking about acting. Rita Hayworth was my Grandad's favourite actress, which is why I was named after her.
