Rita Ora Follows In 'Wifey' Cara Delevingne's Footsteps As The New Face Of DKNY

31 July 2013 by

After Rita Ora co-hosted DKNY’s uber cool #dknyartworks launch with Cara Delevingne in London last month we should have seen the singer's latest career move coming. However when the pictures of the star shooting DKNY's Resort 2014 campaign in Times Square landed in our inbox we were caught by surprise. It's not that this is the Rita's first fashion gig, she's already the face of Madonna and Lourdes' Material Girl collection, but we could never have predicted that she would be snapped up by DKNY so soon after her best friend Cara's Autumn Winter 2013 ads for the brand were revealed. It looks like Brit girls are taking the Big Apple - and its fashion scene - by storm.

Rita stopped traffic in the same location where Cara shot her DKNY promo and like her bessie, took the opportunity to hop on top of one of NYC's iconic yellow taxi cabs. The singer revealed how she was preparing for the shoot on Tuesday morning in a tweet: "Good morning. Hitting the gym then we do a HUGE photoshoot in the middle of Times Square! Come and say hi! 12pm! It's going down!!" Rather than keeping the event under wraps, the star invited her fans - known as 'Rita Bots' - to join her in Time Square, which they did in their droves. She posted images on Instagram showing crowds of people surrounding the scene, as the production went under way.

Rita Ora: "Little sneak peek #DKNY"

Ora told her followers: "Thank you bots for coming out!! Today was awesome you always crack me up! Didn't even feel like work I love you! More then you'll ever know... #DKNY #NYCNights #TimesSquare".
