Oxford Street came to a stand still last night. Why? Because of a little lady known as Rihanna. The songstress made an appearance in London as she launched her River Island clothing line to a pack of eager fashion bunnies. That's right folks, Ri-Ri x River Island is now on sale!

'The collection is casual, chic, flirty and for all body types,' Rihanna told us of her designs. 'I wanted all girls to really want to wear this and be comfortable in it but still feel edgy. I wanted the character to come out in the clothes without trying too hard.' She also revealed that her personal sartorial tastes have influenced the pieces. 'My style is definitely inspired by my mood so this collection will feature a range of different moods and attitudes because I’m assuming my fans will feel the same way,' she said.

And she's not wrong. Rihanna's die-hard fans went wild for the collection yesterday, queuing for hours to get their mitts on the pieces and waiting over an hour for their hero to appear. When Ri-Ri did arrive, she looked as gorgeously laidback as ever wearing a form-fitting, black gown slit to the thigh to show off her toned-and-tanned pins. A troop of models showcased the singer's wares on a pop-up catwalk before she took her bow and waved to the adoring crowd.

So now it's time to shop! In the gallery below, you'll find our favourite pieces from the collection, which you can buy online at www.riverisland.com and in selected branches of River Island across the country. So do tell: what will YOU choose? It's time to get your Ri-Ri on...

Liam McMahon (Tue Mar 05 19:33:17 GMT 2013): Don't buy any of it. It's bloody awful.
Bo Jingles (Thu Mar 07 16:53:55 GMT 2013): This is terrible! I admire the clothes of many celebrities BUT does them looking good in clothes make me think they would be great or even decent at designing clothes? Hell no! The hem on the black dress Rihanna is wearing looks like it was sewn by a drunk pirate, come to think of it; the clothes look like they were designed for drunk pirates. Kudos to Rihanna for good business acumen though.
