For their 25 anniversary issue, GQ have joined together two cultural icons as Damien Hirst art directed Rihanna for the cover. Cool, huh? Sadly we won't get to see Rihanna covered in colourful spots as we predicted, as the legendary artist has transformed Rihanna into the Greek killer Medusa.
On the cover Rihannna wears nothing but reptiles as she is topless, with a boa wrapped around her neck and a serpents nest for hair. It's pretty much our idea of hell. As if having live snakes for hair wasn't bad enough, Rihanna also does a Miley, licking the boa.
In Greek mythology looking directly at Medusa would turn you to stone, so naturally Rihanna sports some creepy snake-eye contact lenses to hammer home the 'I can kill you with my eyes' thing. These, and the fake fangs, have gone to the top of our Halloween wishlist.
Rihanna took to her Instagram (natch) to share the news as she posted the editorial with the captions 'Medusa head on me like I'm 'luminati!!!!' She also wrote: 'I love playing with dominant animals! These 2 were double the trouble, but they're superstars!!' Oh Rih, we do love you for creating the hashtags #SnakeLife and #Snakez.
Rihanna has been busy tapping away on her Instagram in the past week, as her Insta photographer has staged a number of eyebrow raising photoshoots. First up she posed at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi in that controversial Instagram shoot and then she showed off a lot of skin in Greece, suggestively posing over railings.
The 25th Anniversary issue of British GQ goes on sale on 31st October, but until then see Rihanna's style evolution in the gallery below...
