It seems that the children of the FROW are ruling the ready-to-wear roost post New York Fashion Week. Firstly Victoria Beckham confessed in her exclusive interview with us that Harper provides constructive feedback on her collections and now it seems the pint sized fashion princess, Alexander Wang’s niece, Aila has been passing on style suggestions to Rihanna. Perhaps Rihanna has her on speed style while she negotiates her way through her new ‘ghetto goth’ look?
Stepping out in our fair capital yesterday, Rihanna was seen wearing the very same Alexander Wang ‘Parental Advisory: Explicit Content’ slogan Aila wore on the FROW of her uncle’s show before anyone else. Rihanna teamed her jumper version with some seriously lust worthy lux leather in the form of J Brand’s 815 Super Skinny trousers in coated black tar. Some might say that the slogan itself it's highly apt for the singer who is always likes to cause a stir. See images of Rihanna from yesterday with ther phallic Vivienne Westwood clutch for reference!

With the slogan tees and jumpers already being proclaimed as the cult pieces of Spring/Summer 2014, it’s not surprising the fashion fanatic that is Rihanna is the second person to endorse the pieces from Alexander Wang’s latest collection. After FROWing at the show which reconnected Wang’s brand with the street inspirations which used to be so instrumental to his vision, Rihanna was seen cosying up to the designer at his after show party. It’s pretty safe to say Rihanna is very close to the world of Wang and there is no greater endorsement for a trend than the Aila affiliation after all! Rihanna is always keen to don the brand, with her past looks littered with Alexander's pieces.
It seems therefore that the 1990s slogan trend for Spring/Summer 2014 is already getting a head start on the other fledgling fashion trends we are viewing at the collections. So guys, stop what you are doing, down tools and get your mitts on any slogans of the nineties variety! And whilst you are out there, make sure to take notes from any style savvy children, they are the future, and probably already working the fashion trends we'll be coveting next season!
