David Beckham’s career isn’t the only thing that ended yesterday with the footballer’s last ever match – his wife is officially no longer a WAG. Ok, so we all know Victoria Beckham hung up her hair extensions and conquered the fashion world a while ago now but she’s still spent the last 14 years devotedly traipsing to different stadiums around the world to watch her husband play the beautiful game.
David Beckham and his boys at his last ever game
'The children and I are so proud of David, it's been an incredible journey for us all as we have watched him play at clubs all over the world throughout the last 15 years,' she said as her husband announced his retirement. 'Myself and the children have cheered him from the stands, as he has held high trophies with his teams at Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris St Germain. This was not an easy decision to make, and to me and the children he will always be an amazing sportsman and a devoted husband and father.'
Victoria and Harper watch from the stands at David's last game
So as Victoria and Harper watched a tearful David and the three boys Brookyln, Romeo and Cruz do a lap of honour last night, we wouldn’t have been surprised if she’d let herself reflect on what it means that her WAG days are officially over. We certainly did. No more family outings to the football with Gordon and Tana Ramsey. No more full length and fabulous balls. No more rumours of unrest in the WAG camp at international games… *sigh* Let’s pay tribute to the 14 years of WAG-dom, Victoria style…
