Another day, and another exciting spring summer campaign lands on our desks. Today it is Balmain’s second line, Pierre Balmain that’s caught our eyes, and we’ve got to say, that is one pretty collection.
The campaign features photographs by Karim Sadli, who has shot advertising campaigns for Isabel Marant, Akris, Trussardi, Lacoste and Givenchy. Olivier Rousteing, the new(ish) designer at the French fashion house, has created unfussy colour shots of dandy-style pastel knits and bikers, mixed with a more stylised set of black and white images showing more dramatic full length shots of a slicked back hair, fierce Anna Selezneva gazing dreamily into the distance.
The very wearable colleciton nicely ticks off a pleather of next season’s most exciting trends – tuxedo tailoring, sportswear, biker… Ooh we’re exciting to shed these cable knits and get into our summer looks already!
Check out the accompanying video to the campaign above to see the shaky handheld cinematography transport us to the days of our misspent youth watching Dogtooth and other equally perplexing European art-house films. Though happily this one is much more cheery, and lasts just forty seconds. Phew!
So how do you think it measures up to the other campaigns we’ve been showing off this week? See the latest drops - from Prada to Givenchy - here.
