While Kanye West is otherwise pre-occupied being a baby daddy and one half of arguably the most photographed couple in the world (oh, and not to forget that little matter of the album he recently dropped), he's left a little fashion sized hole in the hip hop world. The three time Grammy Award winning musician has recently teamed up with Moncler to design a range of Moncler Lunettes sunglasses for men and women. Mr. Williams himself will also be fronting the advertising campaign for the brand. “He represents the very best of all that is contemporary, creative and international, the same characteristics that underpin the entire Moncler project and the Moncler Lunettes collection,” chairman and chief executive officer Remo Ruffini told WWD.
Homies with the likes of Alexa Chung and model of the moment Cara Delevingne, the voice of Daft Punk's ridiculously massive hit of the summer 'Get Lucky' - (you literally can't possibly have missed it) - has undeniably always had a great sense of style. All the better to design his own range, perhaps? We love you Kanye, but a little new blood on the leaves (see what we did there?) would be exciting all 'round. Pharrell Williams at next year's LC:M? *Squeals* Who knows...
The sunglasses, described as “halfway between futurism and Fifties Style,” are set to be unveiled in Paris on September 26 to mark the opening of the new Moncler flagship store. Made from a single piece of titanium, the unisex model toys with the concept of an oversized mask, thick sides and lightweight front boasting flexibility and resistance. And swag, obvs.
