After three months of glorious gowns, acceptance speeches and miles of red carpet, the awards season has been rolled up for another year *sob.* While we are feeling down about the end of awards season, we are cheering ourselves up by looking back at the biggest fashion moments over the past month. To celebrate in true awards season style we have picked our top five best dressed of all the events...

5. Jennifer Lawrence: Dior Darling

J-Law treated us to a a delightful Dior Trio (Getty)

Jennifer Lawrence may have been robbed by Lupita Nyong’o (harsh but fair) from claiming her second Oscar, but the actress hasn’t let up in the style stakes. While she was absent from many award ceremonies due to filming commitments, J Law made her presence well and truly felt when she did show up by photo bombing and falling over in the most glorious of gowns. Her Oscar’s dress was by far her greatest and she earned extra points for wearing a necklace in the most innovative fashion, with it casually flung over the back of her neck. Wearing it in front is so last season…

4. Sandra Bullock: Defying Gravity

Sandra Bullock’s red carpet wardrobe was out of this world this season, which is very apt given her nominations for Gravity. She may have left the awards season empty handed but Sandra certainly didn’t lose out when it came to fashion. There were a number of luxurious Lanvin looks, but her Stella McCartney ensemble at the Oscars nominees luncheon was the real winner - #outofthisworld!

3. Amy Adams: Vintage Inspired Hustler

Amy Adams has really come to the fashion fore over the last year and despite a somewhat underwhelming dress choice for the Oscars, the actress still ranks highly in our books. As a seventies hustler Amy had one of the greatest wardrobes in film this year and certainly seemed to have taken style tips from her character. The winning moment came when Amy throw a matching cape onto her Valentino dress at the Golden Globes.

2. Lupita Nyong'o: A Ready-to-wear Rainbow

For many this awards season will all be about the Lupita Nyong'o rainbow. It all started for Lupita at the Golden Globes where she donned a ravishing red caped Ralph Lauren dress and with one swish of her cape she became Hollywood royalty. From that moment on Lupita kept raising her game. There was the green Dior dress she wore at the BAFTAs and the Nairobi blue Prada dress she wore to the Oscars. The actress also gains extra points for her major behind-the-scenes instagrams!

1. Cate Blanchett: Experimental Nude

Nude was the consistent theme to Cate Blanchett's award season looks (Getty)

All hail Queen Cate Blanchett! She may have fictionally reined over the Elizabethans, but she certainly ruled over everyone this awards season. Over the last three months Cate showed that you can experiment with the traditional rules of red carpet dressing without resorting to a swan dress. Take note Bjork babes! Blanchett has a penchant for nude, which went perfectly  with her multiple golden statues. Her final look at the Oscars made her a winner even before she claimed the prize for Best Leading Actress. We bow at your feet Cate!
