Oscars 2013: Kristen Stewart Accessorises Her Reem Acra Dress With... Crutches!

Forget Anne Hathaway ditching Valentino for Prada, THIS is the appearance that caused the biggest gasps here at Grazia HQ: Kristen Stewart rocking up to the Oscar Awards wearing a Reem Acra dressed accessorised with - quelle horreur - crutches!

The Twilight star limped onto the red carpet in a pair of flat shoes (no surprises there) but when we caught sight of her assistant carrying said crutches along with a pair of nude heels, we knew this was no ordinary K-Stew appearance.

Although the reason for her injury is as yet unconfirmed, Kristen is known for her clumsiness and has often been seen sporting a bandage - you'll remember she showcased an injured hand while plugging Breaking Dawn after a tussle with Chris Hemsworth on the set of Snow White and the Huntsman.

But when it came to posing for the paps, the 22-year-old ditched her crutches and pulled on her Jimmy Choo Vibe platform sandals. What a trooper! In fact, she looks more feminine than ever in the ivory gown covered in seashell embroidery and a frothy tulle train. The look rather reminds us of the lace panelled nude gown she wore to the Breaking Dawn Part 2 LA premiere, remember?

'It's pretty...for her', Kelly Osbourne said of the look - and she's not wrong. Because, let's be honest, it's rare for the A-list enfant terrible to go so glam.

This isn't the first time Kristen has turned to Reem Acra for a red carpet appearance, however. Most memorably, she rocked up to the Cannes Film Festival last year in a scarlet red creation that earned our thumbs up.

So what do YOU make of K-Stew's look? Let us know below and stay tuned to all our Oscars coverage.

UPDATE: People StyleWatch reports that the star's makeup artist cleared up the limping K-Stew mystery. Beau Nelson explains that Kristen 'cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago.' Ouch!
