Heads up, folks: it's the 2013 Oscar Awards on Sunday! In case you weren't away, this is THE red carpet event of the year and buzz has long been mounting about who'll pick up the coveted gold gongs. But here at Grazia HQ all we can think about is: what will the stars WEAR? We are beyond excited to see Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway et al swathed in their glad rags and predictions are flying around these parts as to which designer they'll choose.
Considering Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence - who's nominated for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook - are part of the Dior famille, we're putting our bets on both ladies opting for a Raf Simons creation, as they have done for awards shows thus far. Marion would look resplendent in the frothy strapless concotion from the French fashion house's recent couture collection featuring floral appliques and splashes of neon. As for J-Law, we'd love to see her away from the form-fitting, colour-blocking gowns and opting for something super-girlie like a full-skirted beauty made of white lace. Ah, we can but dream...
As for Anne Hathaway - nominated for Best Supporting Actress thanks to her warbling in Les Miserables - we've seen her going the classic Hollywood glamour route again and again *stifles yawn* So wouldn't it be a treat to see her going a touch edgier to match her new crop? We're picturing her channelling Rooney Mara's gothic chic in a black floor-sweeper with a high-neck to really showcase her new 'do. Please make it happen, Annie!
With her long blonde locks, Amanda Seyfried would look simply angelic in a floaty white number by Zuhair Murad accented by gold detailing on the waist and neck and wouldn't Jessica Chastain look fab in a floaty bejewelled number like the ones Monique Lhuillier showcased on her Autumn Winter 2013 catwalk?
We might be getting a taaaad carried away but oh how marvellous it would be to see Naomi Watts working one of the shimmering stunners that graced the Gucci catwalk in Milan yesterday? They may be a tad too boobalicious for our Naomi but we've got a blue frock in mind that would work brilliantly with her fair colouring.
Then there's Kerry Washington who is known to be more adventurous than most when it comes to red carpet dressing. She wore sheer Miu Miu to the Golden Globes, par exemple, and is brave enough to try a ginormous ball-gown like the one we saw on Marchesa's catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
And while we're playing the prediction game, we've thrown in a few of our favourite stars for good measure, from Emma Stone to Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley who we'd love to see swathed in some of the gowns we spotted at couture week. Take a look through the gallery above to see what our dreams are made of and let us know what YOU'd love to see the stars wearing...
