Want To Know What Celine's First Store In London Looks Like? HINT: It's Mega Chic

Celine's haute handbag displays at the Mount Street

Hot on the heels of an OBE collection last week comes another triumph for the designer, Phoebe Philo: her very first Celine store in the UK has switched on the lights and turned on the tills. Sitting in a sweet spot on London's Mount Street - where other debut openings Roksanda Ilincic and Christopher Kane will soon be unveiled - the British retail home of the French luxury brand is every inch as chic as you'd expect. Designed by Phoebe and her team, you'll find many parallels to her runway collections: the overall aesthetic is discreet and hushed, but in no way could it ever typecast it as boring.

Traditional craftsmanship sits happily alongside the modern. And there’s really bloody nice flooring - a set design trait that fash eds have come to expect of a Celine catwalk. This shop-floor version is intricately spliced together marble, inlaid with precious stones to the effect of parquet.

The lamps and table have been created by FOS

Some of the interior’s most interesting furnishings have been created in collaboration with a Danish artist called FOS -  jewellery displays, day bed, lamps, chandelier and more can be credited to the man behind the capitals: Thomas Poulsen.

And the flooring! We would like this in the Grazia office, please.

The neutral but sumptuous space looks ripe for exploring – especially when you notice a rainbow wall of bags. The Phantom, Classic, Luggage… all of our favourites are present and correct and in this tactile, touchable gallery-like set-up it’d be hard not splurge.
