'I never used social media in my life until November. I was genuinely terrified,' Sarah Jessica Parker has said of embracing online culture. 'I said to [Nordstrom], ‘Treat me like I’m a newborn, like I’ve literally just been birthed.’' And now she's literally getting Carrie'd away (ha).
In the build up to the launch of her shoe line (it lands at Nordstrom this Friday 28th February), she's launched a brand new account dedicated solely to footwear. Yay! It more than makes up for our slight disappointment that SJP’s personal Instagram account was noticeably less-than-fashion-y - see snaps of subway trash and lost toys on the streets of New York.

'I hear the Internet is a wonderful way to reach other people,' Parker joked to WWD. And she’s certainly taken this new-fangled medium very seriously – with Instagram, Pinterest (SJP will be guest editing Nordstrom’s Pinterest site), Facebook and Twitter. What's more, the star will also be answering questions via the hashtag #SJPxNordstrom. What better way to cause a buzz? Exactly.
Aside from the virtual world, Sarah Jessica will be making personal appearances in Nordstrom stores across the U.S. from Seattle to Los Angeles and Dallas, and to a special pop-up store in SoHo, New York. She’ll be hyping-up each city visit, putting Place Pins on the Pinterest board inspired by both her own and friends’ favourite spots in each city.
She compared this new tactic to promoting her first fragrance several years ago when she merely went on a 'whistle-stop tour' around some stores. 'I will be curious to see if there is a correlation [between the campaign and] someone getting up and buying the shoes.' Hmm, we're pretty sure there will be. Grazia Daily certainly doesn't need much convincing to develop our footwear fetish.
