Earlier this month, we brought you the sad news that luxury label Nicole Farhi had gone into administration, after just one year under the creative directorship of Joanna Sykes. The future of the company was handed over to restructuring specialists Zolfo Cooper – who have just announced the fantastic news that the company has been bought after just three weeks.

Fenn Wright Manson owner Maxine Hargreaves-Adams has bought Nicole Farhi

Maxine Hargreaves-Adams is the woman to thank for securing the future of the brand – a savvy businesswoman who already owns successful womenswear label Fenn Wright Manson. Hargreaves-Adams also comes from a family of major retail bigwigs – her father John Hargreaves founded Brit label Matalan so we predict a hugely successful future for the brand.

Nicole Farhi founded the label in 1982 along with her then-partner, Stephen Marks, founder of French Connection. They sold the company to Kelso Place Asset Management previously who struggled financially with the business.  So what does this huge changeover mean for label? The brand’s six shops, nine concessions, online store and wholesale business will all be handed over to Hargreaves-Adams.  The latest collection from Sykes showed a whole new look for Nicole Farhi, moving more into lust-worthy separates and street-style snappable trophy pieces like It knits and luxe biker jackets. With Hargreaves-Adams business background and Skyes slick creative vision we look forward to a fruitful future for Nicole Farhi.
