Nicholas Kirkwood Kicks Off London Fashion Week Excitement With Interactive Artwork

The bi-annual London Fashion Week buzz is beginning with just over a month before the catwalk action kicks off, so who better than Nicholas Kirkwood to amp up the excitement. The British Fashion Council has just dropped off the creative designed by Mr Kirkwood himself in celebration of the Spring Summer 2014 shows. In true Kirkwood stylee, the design is covered in geometric shapes using his signature chevron pattern. The bespoke artwork will run on the branding throughout LFW.

This September is the third season that BFC has worked with a designer on a statement visual - Jonathan Saunders and Manolo Blahnik have both applied their creativity in the past. But this time, the design features an interactive and reflective element in which location plays a part in the experience. We're not entiiiirely sure what that means but we certainly can't wait to give it a go!

'It’s wonderful to be able to collaborate with designers on the London Fashion Week creative - it brings a personal element and a new, exciting dimension to each season,' said Caroline Rush, CEO of the BFC. 'Nicholas’s creative vision: a bold palette, sharp graphic lines and his signature chevron pattern, have real impact.'

As for the shoe master himself, he commented, 'It’s a great privilege to be able to team up with the BFC on this exciting project and apply my interpretation to the London Fashion Week campaign. I’ve taken elements of my work and designed a pattern that I feel reflects the bold nature and energy of London Fashion Week.' We say: bravo!
